After a long artistic journey focused on the role of the digital in our lives, combined with the constant stream “breaking” news and the absurdity of how it is all amplified through social media and the general news cycle, THE ISLAND SERIES fulfills a need to focus on one concrete and meaningful thing at a time.
THE DECLUTTER SHOW (2024) is a dance performance made entirely without buying anything!
From the 'KonMari method' to Apple's simple design philosophy, we are increasingly encouraged to declutter and simplify our way of life. More people seek out the simple life and clean up the quantities they have accumulated over time. Therefore, The Nordic Beasts dance theatre presents: THE DECLUTTER SHOW!
A performance that did not buy anything new during its creation and asks its audience to bring one or more things they would like to clear out and pass on to the performance. Quite literally, THE DECLUTTER SHOW pushes everyone involved to declutter and turn the mess into a spectacular dance experience that tugs at our own relationship with the amounts of stuff that pile up in our lives and possibly (possibly not) this process will make us all happier.
THE RIGHT WAY FOR FISH TO DIE – Outdoor Edition (2026) is a 30-minute duet in which dancer and choreographer Noora Hannula and circus artist Elise Reine lead the audiences to experience recreational fishing through the eyes of the fish.
With humor, acrobatics and a blend of dance and contemporary circus, the work immerses us in a world where we are asked to see our relationship with nature - and the lives we so often take for granted - from a different angle.
